Polar Bear Adoptions and Conservation

Adopt a Polar Bear Our work with polar bears is just part of Care for the Wild’s practical work to fight animal cruelty, promote animal welfare, rescue and help animals in need and make a difference!

Care for the Wild International’s work to help endangered polar bears is funded by our polar bear adoption scheme and donations from supporters. As with all of our work we aim to make a difference by providing practical help to aid animals in most need.

Polar bears are under threat from hunters and global warming, which is robbing them of a place to live. Only 21,500 to 25,000 polar bears remain in the wild today and this is decreasing every year. Scientists predict that if current trends continue, over 30% of the population will be lost within the next 35 to 50 years.

Care for the Wild International has teamed up with world-renowned polar bear experts to address the crisis facing polar bears today. The research being undertaken by the scientists will assist in the ongoing, long-term conservation and management of endangered polar bears in western Hudson Bay.

To help fund this project we started a polar bear adoption scheme which allows people to support these endangered animals. By adopting a polar bear our supporters are making a very personal connection with one of the Arctic's most magnificent inhabitants and helping polar bears to have a better future. The rest of our work is funded by donations from our supporters.
Adopt a Polar Bear Our aim is to make a difference and help endangered polar bears wherever they are in need.
