Volunteering with Care for the Wild
At Care for the Wild we recognise and value the time and expertise of our committed volunteers. By donating your time you allow us to do so much more for wild animals in the UK and around the world; be it a few hours at a show, an afternoon tending to our wildlife garden or regularly supporting our office team.
We have a small team of staff, and volunteers around the UK and locally in Sussex are a big part of the Care for the Wild family – all working to ensure that we deliver greatest impact for animals at risk.
Match your skills
We try to use your experience and interests to their fullest by matching volunteers to various areas of our work
- Have language skills? You could help develop our work internationally.
- Are you a whizz at organisation and office support? You could support the smooth running of our charity.
- Are you interested in, or have experience of, campaigning, communications or media relations work?
- Long term interest in animals? Your passion and knowledge could help us grow.
We refresh and post up some of our most urgent openings here. One of these may be just right for you, but this list isn’t exhaustive so if you want to know more drop us a line at email@example.com and tell us a bit about you.
“As a busy mum, I only have a few hours a week spare, but my time and skills are always put to good use supporting Care for the Wild’s projects and adoption administration. I have long been an animal lover but in my professional life never had the time to develop this passion. One year later and I have never regretted joining the team!”
Faye, Projects Administration 2013
Social and rewarding
We are a small friendly team, all passionate about the care of wildlife worldwide – we welcome a huge range of likeminded individuals to join our team.
Are you a people person? You could be out and about sharing the Care for the Wild story!
Like teamwork? Join in for a local group collection day, or set up a local event of your own.
Remember, your time, whatever you do, ultimately allows us together to act for the protection of even more wild animals in need.
“Volunteering at Care for the Wild has been a really enjoyable experience and I have learnt a lot with the team. Supporting their RIGHT-tourism campaign through research and writing made good use of my academic skills and I even discovered issues that I was previously unaware of. All of the staff (and their dogs!) are so friendly and I have loved getting to know them over the past few months.”
Anna, Campaigns 2013
Active and hands on
We have recently undergone some exciting new shifts at Care for the Wild, with our new office close to the centre of Horsham town, with good public transport links it makes it easier for our supporters to get involved. We have been building our green fingered gardening team, help for DIY and painting and even a professional calligrapher. Your passion could help us enormously – even if just for a few hours.
“Volunteering for Care for the Wild is great. I’m really pleased to have the opportunity to do my bit for wildlife and to learn so much at the same time. I thoroughly recommend it”
Paul, Wildlife Rescue Driver 2013
